Speedball Speed Stamp media incompatibility

FYI...

I have discoverd, over time, that the pink, Speedball Speed Stamp, carving media is not compatibile with the double sided foam tape (Superstick) I use to mount real rubber stamps to wooden or plastic backs. I bought 3 sheets of the double sided foam tape from "If Pigs could Fly" ( http://www.rubberpoet.com/PigAccessories.html)  and have been using it to mount both my Laser cut rubber stamps and my hand carved speedball stamps. It works wonders on the rubber stamps. The gule on the Superstick, "melts" the speedball media, and if you have the stamp stored on it side, the stamp will "slide down" or move on. My next Speedball carved stamp will be mounted with 3M double sided tape without the foam backing. I am hoping the 3M tape won't "melt" the speedball.

I've been using garden-variety Elmer's glue to affix my Speedball
stamps to wood. It seems to work well.

Ron.....   Do you feel that the Speedball has enough cushion by itself (because of it's thickness) for a good impression? The superstick is nice because it adds 1/8" of cushion. I know with thinner laser cut rubber superstick is almost mandatory to get a good imprint.

It's pretty squishy stuff - I haven't had a problem with it, provided
you press firmly. My only gripe about Speedball is I can't find
blades anywhere. All I have is the 2 basic blades that came with the
kit, & I'd like something for doing finer details with.

None of the local Michael's carry them, but that website I hadn't
checked - thanks Jay!
BTW, it occurs to me - you being a good Virginia farmboy & all - you
ought to do a series of boxes located at some of the old KGB dead-
drops. Would make for a most unique letterboxing experience...
